The Evolution of Tummy Time

In the beginning, there was Zev, flat on his face.
Exhibit A: 1/29/10

Then came 'bummy time' and Zev was much happier spending time on his front.
Exhibit B: 2/25/10

Now, Zev has built up the strength to lift his head (not to mention tolerate this position for periods of time that can be measured in minutes, not nanoseconds). What progress!
Exhibit C: 3/22/10

Things Zev Can Put in His Mouth

We don't think he's teething, but Zev sure does like to put things into his mouth. Things that go in Zev's mouth include, his fingers...

burp cloths and dad's fingers...
actual teething toys (from Nana's collection)...
And safari animals.

Check back for updates if you're trying to make an exhaustive list.

Look, No Hands!

Look, mom, I'm standing!

Oops. I guess I do still need Dad's support.

Zev's First Play Date

Zev hosted his first play date for all his friends. We had six other babies between 5 weeks and 9 months (and their parents) in our living room. What fun!

Too bad Zev decided that he wanted to nap almost the entire time (starting 10 minutes before his friends were expected). But like they say, it's my party and I'll nap if I want to!

I'm Somebunny Special

Zev's mid-weight winter outerwear happens to be a bunny suit. It gets lots of smiles, comments, and thumbs up when we're out walking. We just hope it keeps him warm now that he's to big to be worn inside our winter coats.

It also happened to be his purim costume, though we didn't manage to take pictures of the whole family dressed up (mom had bunny ears, dad was hunting wabbits). This guy is the main event anyway:

"Bummy" Time

After weeks of torturing Zev with "plain" tummy time, we learned that he was much happier (and thus willing to spend more time working on his upper body strength) if we propped him up on the boppy pillow. And so, "bummy time" was born.
Once he's propped up, Zev is pretty interested in the new perspective on the world. The zebra on his play mat is especially fascinating.
